Parafilm Overview
Parafilm is a self-sealing, paraffin-based film that’s ductile, malleable, non-toxic, tasteless, and odorless. It seals in moisture while remaining gas-permeable, allowing tobacco to breathe and age naturally.
One roll can protect roughly 60 tins. It helps prevent drying out and keeps tins from popping open.
---
Instructions
1. Cut a strip about 1 inch wide and 4 inches long.
(The blue line on the roll marks 2 inches.)
2. Remove the backing paper and align the film with the gap between the tin and lid.
3. Apply and stretch:
Hold one end of the film against the tin.
Gently stretch and wrap it around the lid gap.
4. Seal it:
Overlap the end of the film onto the starting point.
The film will self-adhere, forming a tight seal.
5. Check your work:
You should now have a tin that’s moisture-protected but still breathable for proper aging.

Tip:
I've had mixed results with Mason jars, but if you want to try, wrap in the same direction you will tighten the ring for best results.
