Provost contains a 'touch' of latakia but not enough for it to be classified as a full English. Like many here, I had assumed that the suggestion of latakia was a characteristic of the toasted cavendish; but to me this is testament to how well the latakia is integrated with the other leaves. Provost pipe tobacco is a historic, natural-tasting blend, famously associated with James Fox of Dublin, Ireland, created for the Provost of Trinity College in the 1870s, known for its Virginia-forward profile with dark Cavendish for depth, offering a robust, earthy, and nutty experience rather than a sweet aromatic, best enjoyed by experienced smokers in autumn/winter.
