McClelland’s Dark Star was widely regarded as a unique, high-quality, pure Virginia tobacco with a deep and satisfying sweetness. As a Personal Reserve blend composed of heavily stoved, dark broken flakes, it offers a mature, complex, and mellow experience. The room note is pleasant with a "sugared fruit" scent.

As it ages, a smooth, full-bodied, and highly aromatic smoke emerges that is laden with the additional notes of rich, deep wood and soft caramels.
