Vintage BLEND 11 ELEVEN AROMATIC PIPE MIXTURE - HOUSE OF EDGEWORTH - NET WT. 12 OZ. (340.2 GRAMS).
Original product is c.1970 ... MADE IN U.S.A. under the direction of LARUS & BROTHER COMPANY, by UNITED STATES TOBACCO COMPANY, Richmond, Virginia 23224. Gold tin, with "048" stamped on the bottom.
This tobacco brand was well loved and is still well missed, from a time before the fine blend was replaced by a different and widely disliked Lane product a few decades ago. (Perhaps now, no longer in production?) This is the REAL stuff!
Unused, with the undisturbed "SEALED IN FRESHNESS" tape still adhered to both the lid and the can, so this remains factory sealed.
Despite being well kept, spots of oxidation are splattered across the lid top and sides, with a bit on the can bottom rim, and a distinct small area of loss on the bottom. Minor blemishes on the beautiful blue canister sides. Zero cracking, etc.
This has always been maintained in a dry, temperature controlled home, but the exterior has been exposed to pipe tobacco smoke.
