Description

Eight sealed tins of American-made pipe tobacco, all acquired in 2016 and cellared together undisturbed since. A curated cross-section of the domestic golden era — orientals, pressed Virginias, English mixtures — from blenders who understood what time does to tobacco.

Hearth & Home Marquee Series — Magnum Opus (×2) — Cellared September 2, 2016. H&H's Balkan archetype: Latakia, Macedonian Orientals, Virginias, and Perique in careful balance. Nine years of tin age on a blend built for exactly this.

Hearth & Home — WhiteKnight (×2) — Cellared September 2, 2016. A tribute to Yenidje-forward blending. Bright Virginia, fragrant Orientals, Cyprian Latakia. That vibrant, incense-laced character that defined the style — captured at its peak.

Seattle Pipe Club — Mississippi River — Cellared September 4, 2016. Rich pressed Virginias, Oriental leaf, Latakia, and Perique. An SPC benchmark that repays patience in kind.

Seattle Pipe Club — Deception Pass — Cellared September 4, 2016. Joe Lankford's northwest interpretation — Virginia/Perique foundation with a Turkish Oriental accent. A regional expression with a long and loyal following.

Hearth & Home — Anniversary Kake — Cellared September 4, 2016. Hand-blended pressed cake from H&H's flagship line. The format rewards long cellaring. This one has had it.

McClelland — Frog Morton on the Town — Acquired August 23, 2016. Lot 462416. An elegant, pure Oriental blend from a blender that no longer exists. McClelland closed in 2018. What was in the cellar in 2016 is what remains in the world — and this one has had nine years of undisturbed rest to become what it was always going to be.

All eight tins sealed. Zero rust. Perfect condition. Stored in a climate-controlled wine cellar as part of the 99-tin, 20+ lb La Clave Collection, resting together since 2016.

Offered as a lot, with the true connoisseur in mind.
