    "Liggett Group"

    "The Pinkerton Tobacco Company
    Owensboro, Kentucky 42301"

    "MADE IN U.S.A."

Production code embossed on underside of tin, appears to be: "H1381".

Through comparison to codes on several other similar tins from the same lot ... ALL of which have series ending in either 80 or 81 ... this is likely to have been packaged in 1981. There is an early UPC code, which is said to have appeared in the mid-1970s. This tobacco has now been aging, for approximately 45 years in the tin!!!

    Condition:
Improper handling recently, caused several sealed tins to have their metal lid seals be breached for a portion around their perimeter. This is one of those tins. The metal lid still looks factory fresh, except that the finger-pull tab has oxidized a bit. Otherwise, The item remains unopened and undisturbed ... but this tin is NO LONGER SEALED! (NOW STORED IN HEAVY DUTY ZIP-LOCK BAG)

Lithograph or painted side finish still looks excellent, with a few blemishes throughout. Plated tin base finish has oxidized in many places but it is fully intact. Interior moisture levels are unknown, of course.

    Weighs 510 gm.

Very nice and unique display piece as a whole, or ready to be cracked open and enjoyed!

Buyers of the same name and complete shipping address, paying for multiple won auctions in any 24-hour period (or more, at our discretion), will have their items safely packaged together into one COMBINED SHIPPING box. After we notify TinBids of any shipping labels that were not generated, they will link the tracking, adjust shipping cost, and refund the overage.

Maintained in a temperature controlled, smoke frequented cellar.
