A fairly classic American burley blend that runs around medium in intensity and just slightly lower in nicotine, which is strong enough to be satisfying but not obvious. Sort of rough cut, can be a bit difficult to get it burning at the start, but once it’s going it burns well. The flavors of Mixture 79, the most apparent being anise/licorice and a brown sugar like background, although there is a lot more to it than just that are there. In addition, the cherry brandy component comes through with a mild hint of brandy with subtle cherry coming and going. Not a chemical flavoring kind of cherry either, but rather natural. the flavor of the tobacco holds its own against the somewhat stronger flavorings and is not lost or drowned out. This is not a goopy/sticky tobacco in the vein of Lane aromatics and similar blends. It harkens back to an earlier style of American tobacco.
