Gold tin, and gold lid, with paint. Beautiful gold seal is unbroken. Tin was very well kept, with some small oxidation on the underside, but no cracks, stains, etc. Minimal shelf wear with light scratching and rub at the contact points. One tiny dent each, on both the container's bottom and top edge. Looks like there is residue remaining on the underside, where a decal may have been removed.

This has always been maintained in a dry, temperature controlled home, but the exterior has been exposed to pipe tobacco smoke.
