Description

Vintage Von Eicken's BLACK and GOLD MIXTURE - extra mild - English Blend Pipe Tobacco (1970s-80s?) - in sealed tin.

    "2 ozs Nett when packed"

"MADE IN GERMANY - JOH.WILH. VON EICKEN - HAMBURG"

Tin does not have any health warnings, bar code, etc. The round container is gold, with painted lid.

Clear underside ID decal reads, as follows:

"2 ounces Tobacco, Made in Germany
    Sole United States Importers
    G. A. Georgopule & Co., Inc.
    48 Stone Street, New York"

Both the lid and bottom are still depressed, so believed to be unopened, still sealed.

Tin was very well kept, with zero oxidation, rust, cracking, etc. Minimal shelf wear with light scratching and rub at the contact points. A few tiny dings in the container bottom.

This has always been maintained in a dry, temperature controlled home, but the exterior has been exposed to pipe tobacco smoke.
