50gm tin of McClelland #27 Virginia 2017. Stored in closet since purchase. The McClellan number 27 is a straightforward Virginia with outstanding qualities especially after it's been aged for a while. This one has been aged for 8 and 1/2 years. Could still be aged for another 10 more easily although peak fermentation will probably occur over the next four years. There's nothing like cracking a tin of McClellan virginia. There is a little bit of that ketchup smell which disappears very quickly to reveal outstanding quality flakes for folding, rubbing out, or cubing.

No. 27 is a dreamy smoke. It won the Chicago Bowl 2015, the contest was for best Virginia or Virginia/Perique blend.
