Rare -MacBaren's Highland Mixture from 2001 w 30- yr Glenfarclas

100g tin of the discontinued MacBaren's Highland Mixture which was created with the aim of combining the finest tobaccos with one of the most sophisticated single malt scotch whiskys. The result was a high quality smoking experience that appealed to both natural and aromatic smokers.

After it was discontinued, MacBaren's released a similar recipe under HH Highland in 2011 (the newer blend has a bit more latakia resulting in a smokier and, IMO less complex, blend tho alas, HH highland too was itself discontinued in 2014


the tobacco is a ready rubbed blend, consisting of some of the finest tobacco components - sweet & citrusy Virginias, Nutty Burleys, a subtle amount of smoky Latakia and some cavendish to smooth out the profile. It was then topped with a generous portion of pedigree 30 year old Glenfarclas single malt scotch - which imparts a rich, peaty and additional layer of sweet overtones that compliments the tobaccos without overpowering them. This is a complex blend with nearly 30 years of age to round out the flavors even more.

note there is some very shallow surface rust on the tin but no deep pitting and the tin (and the foil bag inside it) are still sealed.
