Description

Vintage LANE LTD., HOUSE of LORDS - "THE WORLD'S MOST DISTINGUISHED - Smoking Mixture". Undisturbed, 2 ounces tin. This is the original, real deal. Perhaps from the 1970s or early 1980s?

    Bottom of container is stamped:
    "LANE LTD.
    SINCE 1896
    TP 34 NEW YORK, N.Y.
    *
    NET WEIGHT 2 OUNCES
    MADE IN U.S.A.
    *
    CONTAINER MADE IN WESTERN GERMANY"

Description from a 1970s Lane tobacco (2 oz. was $1..50 and 1 lb. was $10.00!) and pipe selections brochure:
"HOUSE OF LORDS - faintly tart, delightfully sweet natural aroma. This exceptional mixture has made loyal friends on all continents"

Tin was opened (and looks like it was taped closed) long ago, but the contents appear to be undisturbed. Tape appears to be long gone years ago as well, and only dried residue remains. There's also the remnants of a Max Burns Humidor One price tag ... originally purchased in the Detroit area. Stored in a simple Ziploc quart-size freezer bag only, and the tobacco is dry. Some oxidation to the tin, with a couple of little dents in the bottom.

This has always been maintained in a dry, temperature controlled home, but the exterior has been exposed to pipe tobacco smoke.
