I looked forward to Straus Tobacco's holiday releases every year. Just as the air would start to turn cold, they would release the waiting list for Sleepy Hollow (Halloween Aromatic) and Wenceslas (Christmas Aromatic).

As the years went on, it became more and more difficult to get my hands on the blends - the list would fill within a day or two of it being released. Today, with the prevalence of social media, you can lose your chance to get this blend within minutes of it being announced!

I was going through my cellar and found these rare gems. I thought I had smoked it all! Since I can no longer enjoy these wonderful blends, this is your chance to SKIP THE LIST and get your hands on them now!

Straus Tobacco’s Sleepy Hollow is a highly regarded, seasonal aromatic pipe tobacco, frequently praised as a quintessential "fall" or "Halloween" blend. It is a house blend from Straus Tobacconist in Cincinnati, Ohio, known for its warm, festive flavor profile and pleasant aroma.

The primary flavors are cinnamon, pumpkin spice, and warm bread or baking spices. It is often described as tasting like pumpkin spice cookies, muffins, or pumpkin bread. A mild vanilla component acts as a base note behind the spice, with some smokers detecting hints of maple or caramel. While this blend is highly aromatic, a pleasant, creamy nuttiness from the base burley tobacco emerges as the bowl progresses.

I always enjoyed passing out Halloween candy, sitting on the porch, with this in my pipe!

Straus Tobacco's Wenceslas is a popular, limited-edition holiday aromatic blend characterized as
a sweet "spiced berry" flavor, featuring a creamy, slightly smoky, and nutty profile. It consists of burley, golden, and dark cavendish tobacco. Known for being a "heavy-hitter" aromatic, it offers a very pleasant, festive room note and a mild-to-medium smoking experience. In your pipe, you'll taste spiced berry with hints of chocolate or s'mores and a slight nuttiness.

This is a highly rated, pleasant, and festive blend. It was my go-to "crowd-pleaser" for the Christmas season.

I purchased several 8 oz bags of these blends back in 2016 and stored some away just in case I missed the list one year. These jars have not been opened since I put them in my climate controlled cellar in 2016.
