Description
Nine sealed containers of European-made pipe tobacco, acquired between 2014 and 2017 and cellared together undisturbed since. Virginias, flakes, and a Balkan classic â sourced from Germany, Denmark, and the UK, distributed through the channels that defined an era.
Dunhill Elizabethan Mixture (50g) â Cellared August 15, 2016. A rich, flavored Cavendish-forward blend from the London house that defined English pipe tobacco for a century. Made in Denmark under Dunhill authority. Nine years of tin age on one of the most recognized names in the hobby.
Rattray's Hal O' The Wynd (100g) â Cellared September 4, 2016. Full Red Virginia Flake, ready rubbed. Made in Germany, distributed by Arango Cigar Co. Charles Rattray's Scottish lineage in its purest Virginia expression â deep, fermented, and patient.
Rattray's Marlin Flake (100g) â Cellared September 4, 2016. Full Dark Virginia Flake, ready rubbed. The darker, earthier counterpart to Hal O' The Wynd. Same provenance, different character entirely.
Rattray's Old Gowrie (50g) â Cellared September 4, 2016. Rich Red Virginia Flake, ready rubbed. The smallest format of the three Rattray's offerings, but no less serious. A blend that rewards the smoker who lets it breathe.
Escudo Navy De Luxe (50g) â Cellared August 15, 2016. Made in Denmark by Scandinavian Tobacco Group. North Carolina and Virginia pressed with Louisiana Perique, matured and spun into coins. One of the most cellared Virginia/Perique blends in the world, and for good reason.
Mac Baren Golden Extra (Ready Rubbed) â Cellared December 1, 2015. A pressed and partly rubbed golden Burley blend introduced in 1952 and beloved ever since. The chocolate note that good Burley tobacco carries from nature, undisturbed for a decade.
Savinelli Doblone D'Oro (100g) â Cellared September 1, 2014. The longest resting tin in this lot. Virginia, Burley, dark-fired Kenyan leaf, and Perique â aged before spinning, then aged again in the cellar. Vivacious and zesty were the words on the label. Eleven years of quiet disagreement.
Peter Heinrichs Golden Sliced (100g) â Circa 2016. Matured golden-brown Piedmont and Old Belt Virginia, long cut flake. Light, naturally sweet bouquet. Made in Germany, distributed by Arango. A contemplative smoke from one of Germany's most respected tobacconists.
Reiner's Premium Pipe Tobacco Blend 71 â Long Golden Flake (100g) â Cellared November 20, 2017. Made in the EU, imported by Monjure International of High Point, NC. A golden flake from outside the mainstream collector pipeline â precisely the kind of tin that disappears without ceremony and is missed only after it's gone.
All containers sealed. Zero rust. Perfect condition. The Rattray's canisters retain their original factory seals; intact and unbroken. Stored in a climate-controlled wine cellar as part of the 99-tin, 20+ lb La Clave Collection, resting together since acquisition.
Offered as a lot, with the true connoisseur in mind.
