Description
"The Four Seasons" is a line of aromatic blends that are meant to capture the essence of the four distinct seasons in Japan. They were announced at 2014 IPCPR, and released in late 2014. They may have almost 12 years of age on them.
These are absolutely some of the most gorgeous tin art ever produced.
This auction is for 3 of the 4 tins in the series:
1) First Days of Spring: Intriguingly blends Virginia and burleys with a dash of perique to add a dark fruit note and some spice. Speaking of fruit, the blend is lightly topped off with a splash of berry flavor. The taste and room note will change the way you think about aromatics. With plum blossom scent, this sudden sun emerges along a mountain trail. - Matsuo Basho (1644 – 1694)
2) Summer Daydream: Combines sweet, flavorful Virginias with mellow, nutty burleys and is topped off with a mildly sweet vanilla flavoring to create a wonderful aroma and a very smooth smoke. A thicket of summer grass is all that remains of the dreams of ancient warriors. Matsuo Basho (1644-1694).
3) Winter’s Embrace: Expertly blends bright flue cured Virginia tobaccos with mellow burleys and a soft black cavendish for a pleasant, mild smoke. A light topping of vanilla and fruit flavors create a terrific room note. Hello! Light the Fire! I'll bring inside a lovely bright ball of snow. - Matsuo Basho (1644 – 1694)
Ignore the hand written dates on the bottom of the tins, that’s the date I acquired it. These tins are sealed and have always been stored in a climate and temperate controlled environment.
