Description
Four 50g tins of from the RO Series Perique Blends from at least 2017 so they have at least nine years of age on them.
1) Perique Blend B-41: Uses Perique from the Belmont region. Combined with shag-cut dark-fired Kentucky and golden Virginia, this is intensely flavorful with a briny, butter character with strong notes of red pepper — best in a small bowl.
2) Perique Blend GP-11: Uses Perique from the Grand Point region mided with sweet Virginia and toasted Burley, it has a spiciness with hints of wine and a fair amount of cocoa. It seems somewhat mellow, but it has plenty of rich body.
3) Perique Blend P-37: Uses Perique from the Paulina region along with bright Virginia and unflavored black Cavendish. P-37 is flinty, earthy and peppery with hints of coffee. The flavors are bold and intensify throughout the entire bowl.
4) Perique Blend SV-23: Uses Perique from the South Vacherie region, blended with sweet golden Virginia and a bit of mellow Burley. It has a noticeable coffee note with herbal undertones and a good amount of white pepper — builds in intensity.
Ignore the handwritten dates on the bottom of the tins, that is just the date that I acquired the tin. They may or may not be older than that.
