This is the distinctive gold Light / Léger variety from Macdonald’s classic Export cigarette-tobacco line and features the familiar Macdonald “Lassie” trademark. Period advertising confirms Export Light as part of the Macdonald lineup during the early 1980s.
The bilingual Health and Welfare Canada warning and RJR-Macdonald identification date the package approximately to the late 1970s–1980s, most likely the early-to-mid 1980s.
The pouch appears full and unopened in its original factory clear wrapping, with the original tear strip intact. There is considerable age-related spotting, discoloration, wrinkling and shelf wear, particularly across the gold front panel, all clearly visible in the photographs.
