Description

Up for auction is a lot of four sealed 2oz tins of Cornell & Diehl’s Small Batch Carolina Red Flake from the 2024 release, which came out in September 2024. This is the straight Red Virginia edition, not the Perique version.

The 2024 blend uses three Red Virginia grades: TA-22 (13.53% sugar), GA-JRL-19 (17.72% sugar), and TBFO-19 (10% sugar). Reviewers describe a hay-like, earthy base with tangy citrus and dried fruit, finishing with bread, molasses, and stewed plum. It’s a medium-strength flake that’s good from the tin and cellars well, and these have had about two years to settle.
