Description
4 Tins: Bengal Slices & Homage Blends
This lot includes the following:
One 2 ounce tin of Bengal Slices – the "real" one, that is, made in Denmark by James B. Russell, Inc., and cellared in November 1999. This version of Bengal Slices was produced from about 1991 to 1999 or 2000.
(The Bengal Slices blend that is currently available is substantially different. Among other things: no slices.)
Two 1.75 ounce tins of Bengal Slices Single Barrel blend. This is a modern, limited edition blend that is provided periodically in limited quantities. As of this writing it is not currently available. When offered, it is from Sutliff Tobacco Co. This tobacco was aged in a bourbon barrel during its production. It’s a blend of Black Cavendish, Latakia, Oriental, and Virginia tobaccos. Cellared in 2019.
One 1.5 ounce tin of Hearth & Home Fusilier’s Ration by Hearth & Home (Sutliff). Still in production, this was meant as an homage to the Bengal Slices blend of old. It’s a Latakia crumble cake with Cyprian Latakia, Virginias, Orientals and black Cavendish and a top dressing.
