Description
Sealed 2-ounce tin of Hermit Tobacco Works Antique Pressed Syrian Cake from 2000, aged 24 years.
This blend, no longer in production, was crafted to satisfy the yearning of pipesmokers for the old-style Syrian latakia.
Antique Pressed Syrian Cake is a rich blend of red Virginia, perique, Turkish, and authentic Syrian latakia.
They Hand-blended and stoved this in antique containers, then was pressed into one-pound cakes using an authentic antique tobacco press.
The result is a deeply satisfying, heavy English blend with rich Red Virginia, velvety spice from Turkish leaf, and a dash of Syrian latakia that is hand-pressed, dried, and shredded into a Krumble Kake form.
The flavor profile is leathery yet sweet, strong yet mellow, and earth-shaking yet soft—a true delight for latakia lovers.
It's almost too good to be described. And 24 years of age has only improved this long discontinued and much loved blend.
