EMPTY TINS. Once a DUNHILL sample box of three popular blends: Standard Mixture (Medium); Royal Yacht; and Three Year Matured. Three (3) EMPTY Tins, along with a cardboard paper "Tobacco Sampler" box. A promotional item intended to urge three, 3/4 oz. samples of a customer's choice, for a total intended net weight of 2.25 ounces. These tins' covers beautifully lithographed in strong, vibrant, contrasting colors. The box, showing the address for the Flagship American Shop, "Alfred Dunhill of London" at "11 East 26th Street, New York 10 N.Y."The "pop-up" box-display intended to draw the eye and a convenient-carry item. The tins show shop-wear and mild abrasion on the tin's bottoms and some slight erosion of color on the edges of the tin's tops. Two of the three printed with the Royal Warrant. Tin's net weight and contents embossed on the bottoms. Box dimensions, approximately 10"x 4"x1". Three corners previously reinforced with clear tape. The box is an elaborate and clever tobacconist's promotional item, showing shop wear. A beautiful display for a pipe-smoker's or Dunhill aficionado's man-cave. Extremely rare in this condition.
