Blend Your Own “The Balkan Sobranie” Mixture!

The original The Balkan Sobranie was comprised of the following:

- Bright yellow Virginias
- No. 1 Grade Yenidje (Now very rare-not available to retail customers)
- Red Virginias
- St. James Perique
- Syrian Latakia (No longer available)

The Missing Ingredient - Syrian Latakia:
Wellauer’s Pure Syrian Latakia from Switzerland is beyond compare. Simply, the best blending Syrian Latakia available then or, when this tin was manufactured in 2005. Cellared properly, this 100g. (3.5oz.) tin is air tight.

The Main Ingredient - McClelland Tudor Castle:
Coveted for its use of high-grade Yellow & Red Virginias, St. James Perique, and rare No. 1 Grade Yenidje, this blend is no longer available and is aged to perfection. On its own, this blend is highly sought after and these two airtight 2oz. tins were manufactured in 2015. These tins serve as the base of the blend that contain all the ingredients listed above minus the Syrian Latakia.

Included in this auction is an April 2019 tin J.F. Germaine & Sons Balkan Sobranie. Use this tin to compare & adjust the mixture levels or, enjoy on its own.

Tip: if your blend is missing a more sour Oriental-forward flavor, simply purchase a readily available tin or small amount of bulk Oriental leaf and add it to your mixture. I have used Turkish Izmir (readily available in tin and bulk) in the past with success.
