Description
It is evident that the briar turned out today is no match against the briar of the early to mid-20th century. This Ole Jansen Billiard from the 1950s, purported to be made for the W.O. Larsen shop located on Copenhagen's famous "Walking Street", is a prime example. This straight billiard is sleek and relatively lightweight with good bowl capacity, and is attached to a shiny vulcanite saddle stem. Just check out the load of bird's eye grain all around the bowl! Possessing amazing grain and spot-on proportions, truly, this pipe proves itself worthy of display alongside other Danish pipes made by carvers such as Sixten Ivarsson, Even Knudsen, Poul Rasmussen, and Peter Brakner, all whom were artisans at the W.O. Larsen shop.
